Clarissa Williams, teacher–principal and daughter of prominent Primitive Baptist elder Jonah Williams, bought a lot on East Nash Street in the “Rountree Place.” Her property was between present-day Reid and Vick Streets, near the extension adjacent to Saint Mark’s Episcopal Church.
