On 15 September 1923, Alonzo Creech, 37, of Smithfield, son of Bristol and Susanna Creech, married Callie Horton, 21, of Smithfield, daughter of Rufus and Mary Jane Horton, in Wilson’s Mill, Johnston County.

In the 1930 census of Smithfield, Johnston County: farm laborer Alonzo Creech, 49; wife Callie M., 29; and children Roger, 4, Hortense, 3, Odessa, 2, and Roland, 7 months.

In the 1940 census of Wilson, Wilson County: farmer Alonza Creech, 57; wife Callie, 37; and children Alonza Jr., 15, Roger, 14, Odessa, 12, Roland, 9, and Doris, 8.

In 1943, Roger Olander Creech registered for the World War II draft in Wilson County. Per his registration card, he was born 3 October 1925 in Johnston County; lived at 1100 East Nash Street, Wilson; his contact was Callie M. Creech, 1100 East Nash; and he worked for A.B. Carr, Kenan Street, Wilson.

On 29 March 1947, Marcellus Lassiter, 21, son of Roy Lassiter and Addie Woodard Lassiter, married Odessa Creech, 18, daughter of Alonza L. Creech and Callie Mae Horton, at Rev. Fred M. Davis‘ residence at 621 East Green Street, Wilson.

On 4 January 1936, Paul Jones, 21, of Route 1, Lucama, son of Thomas A. and Ida Jones, married Gertrude Creech, 21, of Wilson, daughter of Wright and Sally Creech, at the Courthouse in Smithfield, Johnston County. George Allen and Lillie Creech witnessed.

In the 1940 census of Crossroads township, Wilson County: Paul Jones, 25; wife Gertrude, 23, and children Johnnie H., 3, and Paul J., 1.

In 1940, Paul Henderson Jones registered for the World War II draft in Wilson County. Per his registration card, he was born 5 July 1914 in Wilson County; resided at Route #1, Lucama; was married to Gertrude Jones; and was unemployed.

Paul Henderson Jones Sr. died 30 July 1983 in Wilson. Per his death certificate, he was born 5 July 1914 in Wilson County to Thomas Jones and Ida Bagley; resided at 609 Dew Street, Wilson; and was married to Gertrude Creech Jones.

Gertrude Creech Jones died 12 October 2000 in Wilson.

Living nearby, Wright Creech, 27; his first wife Lucy, 22; their children Leonora, 3, Richard, 2, and Pennina, 1; and servant Daisy Green, 8.

On 25 May 1907, Wright Creach, 34, of Cross Roads township, son of Fred and Peggie Creach, married Sallie Barnes, 23, of Cross Roads township, daughter of E. and Margaret Barnes, in Cross Roads township.

In the 1910 census of Cross Roads township, Wilson County: farmer Wright Creech, 38; wife Sallie A., 26; children Leory, 13, Richard, 12, Penny, 9, Naomie, 7, Luther, 4, Lilly, 2, and Johnnie, 4 months; and Willie, 9, and Odalia Barnes, 7 [who were described as sons-in-law, but were actually Wright’s step-children and Sallie’s children.]

Sallie Barnes Creech died 4 May 1948 at 612 Lodge Street, Wilson. Per her death certificate, she was born 6 December 1887 in Wilson County to Larus Barnes and Margaret Barnes; was the widow of Wright Creach; and was buried at Mary Grove Church. Informant was Willie Barnes, Richmond, Virginia.
