• Sam’l H. Vick — Samuel H. Vick.
• Annie Washington — Born about 1872, Annie Marian Washington was the daughter of blacksmith Jeremiah “Jerry” Washington, a Wilmington native, and his Duplin County-born wife, Jane Washington. (The couple registered their four-year cohabitation in Wayne County in August 1866.) Annie’s siblings included Georgiana, Joshua, William, George Henry, Andrew, Samuel, Paul, Sarah Jane, Mary Catherine, and Jeremiah. Annie Vick died 20 August 1952 at her home at 622 East Green Street.
• Rev. L.J. Melton — Presbyterian clergyman Leavey James Melton.
• Rev. J.H. Jordan — A.M.E. Zion clergyman.
• Sissie Robinson
• Alfred Robinson — Alfred Robinson was a barber and local politician in Wilson for several years before returning to Wilmington in 1889. He and Samuel Vick were political allies (though friendly rivals for the postmaster position.)
• Henry Vick — William Henry Vick was Samuel Vick’s younger brother.
• Mrs. W.J. Moore — Rev. William J. Moore was an A.M.E. Zion minister. His wife was Sarah J. Moore. The family is listed next door to the Washingtons in the 1900 census of Wilson, Wilson County.
• Mrs. S.L. Bowser — Sarah L. Bowser, daughter of Peter and Lucinda Rountree, was the wife of bartender Burt L. Bowser.

• Mr. and Mrs. H.F. Ransom — Hugh T. Ransom and his wife Maggie Joyner Ransom were married on Christmas Day 1889 in a ceremony in which O.L.W. Smith and Samuel Vick stood as witnesses.

• Sarah Miller — Sarah Eliza Miller married Amos Hines three weeks after the Vick-Washington wedding. Their marriage license shows that the ceremony was was conducted at “Pender St. Methodist Church” and W.J. Moore, S.H. Vick and A.F. Moore were witnesses. Sarah Miller Hines’ death certificate lists her parents as James Miller and Priscilla Bass.
• Mrs. Geo. D. Green — George D. Greene was a white hardware merchant and, later, president of an oil mill. His wife was Ella Erwin Greene.

• Lucy Warren — In the 1900 census of Wilson, Wilson County: Lucy Warren, 26, a laundress, lived alone.

• Parker Battle — In the 1900 census of Wilson, Wilson County: moulder Parker Battle, 45, wife Ella L., 38, children Mamie P., 19, James A., 17, Sallie R., 14, Sudie E., 12, and John T., 9, plus mother-in-law Roberta A. Outlaw, 49.
• Mrs. Edward Pool — This is probably Adline Gay Pool, who married fireman Edmund Pool in 1882. Per her marriage license, she was the daughter of Jennie Bavin.

• Weldon Purrington — In the 1870 census of Arcadia, Halifax County. Weldon Perrington, 14, is listed in the household of his parents James and Silvester Perrington; in the 1880 census of Wilmington, New Hanover County: butler Weldon Perrington, 27; wife Louise; 26, and daughter Ardena, 2.

• Thomas Johnson — Probably, in the 1900 census of Wilson, Wilson County: Thomas Johnson, 53, wife Alice, 40, children Rufus, 18, Thomas Jr., 1, William, 30, and Daisy, 22, and lodger Kalie Black, 19.

• Annie Blake — Annie H. Blake, 21, married J.H. Rodgers, 25, at the Baptist church in Wilson. Presbyterian minister L.J. Melton performed the ceremony, and Samuel H. Vick and C.H. Bynum were witnesses.
