  1. Lisa, I really enjoy reading your post. My Mother’s family was from Wilson. Are you related in any way to the Cone, Hagans, or Freeman Family? Are you currently in Wilson. I am trying to find some information on one of my great aunts. Alena Hagans who married Raymond Cone. I found when they married and had a child Lessie Cone. I am trying to find when she died. I believed she died before 1923 when Lessie married, Lessie shows her mother’s name as Mary and deceased so I don’t know if Mary Alena was her mother’s name. I would appreciate it if you could locate any information about this family.

    1. Hi, Elinor, and thank you. I don’t live in Wilson now though I was born and reared here. I have a Hagans line from Wayne County that’s probably distantly related to the Wilson County Haganses, but I’m not a Cone or Freeman. I don’t have any specific info re Alena Hagans Cone, but I’ll keep an eye out.
