Tonight in Wide-Awake.

Always grateful for the opportunity to share with the community that made me.

Many thanks to Wilson County Public Library for its continued support and for extending this invitation.

Many thanks to all who came out tonight to listen and show love. Looking forward to collaborating with all of you!

  1. Lisa, I really enjoy reading your post. My Mother’s family was from Wilson. Are you related in any way to the Cone, Hagans, or Freeman Family? Are you currently in Wilson. I am trying to find some information on one of my great aunts. Alena Hagans who married Raymond Cone. I found when they married and had a child Lessie Cone. I am trying to find when she died. I believed she died before 1923 when Lessie married, Lessie shows her mother’s name as Mary and deceased so I don’t know if Mary Alena was her mother’s name. I would appreciate it if you could locate any information about this family.

    1. Hi, Elinor, and thank you. I don’t live in Wilson now though I was born and reared here. I have a Hagans line from Wayne County that’s probably distantly related to the Wilson County Haganses, but I’m not a Cone or Freeman. I don’t have any specific info re Alena Hagans Cone, but I’ll keep an eye out.
