Smallpox victim buried by the railroad. Tom Roberts, a laborer, died in Toisnot township on 31 March 1914. Per his death certificate, “no physician … supposed to have died from Small pox.” Perhaps due to concerns about contagion, he was buried “on the A.C.L.
