Before she was visiting nurse for Metropolitan Life, Henrietta Colvert was a staff nurse at Wilson Hospital and Tubercular Home/Mercy Hospital and lived in Wilson for fifteen or more years. (She was also my mother‘s maternal great-aunt, and thus the first of the Colvert family to settle here.)

This is so very exciting! My birthday is July 12th. This will be my 95th birthday. Mrs. Colvert was a neighbor and the visiting nurse for my mother and me when we were discharged from Mercy Hospital after my birth. I remember Mrs. Colvert but did not remember what she looked like. This picture is a blessing. Your blog also had an article about my father being the only Hawaiian in Wilson at that time. Thank you so very much.
Wow!! I had the photo colorized and sharpened and would love to email you a copy if you’d like. Also, I’ve FINALLY started doing interviews. About 13 so far. I’m long overdue to speak with you!
