Deed book 68, page 105, Wilson County Register of Deeds Office, Wilson.
On 3 May 1904, barber Joshua L. Tabron purchased at auction a parcel of land “on the road leading from the Wilson and Tarboro road [Herring Avenue/N.C. 42?] to the Old Plank road [Nash Street/Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway] via Mrs. S.B. Lipscomb‘s place.” (Pender Street? Why not name it, if so?) The land had belonged formerly to Tabron’s mother, Edmonia Taborn, and others.
The Tabrons are my family. I read this to my mother. Her father is William Lemon Tabron. We are so overjoyed to find this. She is going to study this to add to our family tree. I called her yesterday to ask about our ancestors of the Lumbee Tribe. And that question led us here. Thank you so much for all of your hard work.
