Jonah Farmer and Martha Batts were married in Wilson on Christmas 1903 in front of D.W. Williams, Mary J. Scott, M. Peacock. J.H. Scott officiated the ceremony. Most other ministers whose names are inscribed in the marriage register were Primitive or Missionary Baptists. A few were Free Will Baptists or A.M.E. Zions. Scott, however, was a Sanctificationist.
