Who was Alabama-born traveling photographer Arthur C. Cook?

Cook lived at 521 East Nash Street, a house next to the Orange Hotel (and long-ago demolished.) I possibly have found him as a child in the 1880 census in Butler County, Alabama, but have no further information.
