The renovations of the double shotguns at 710, 712, and 714 Viola Street are complete. I love the investment in the renovation of existing housing stock happening across East Wilson, but was stunned to see the monthly rental amount — $850. Per unit.

Oh my goodness $850.00 for these tiny rooms!
That is truly 2 much! That is not

I was born in 712 Viola st in 1938 85 years ago. The rent was 9 dollars a month!! One hundred times more. Unacceptable
I live in Yonkers NY but I will never forget my roots because I am proud of my family and upbringing. My parents were good and taught me and siblings well. I am grateful. Great teachers and graduated from Darden high school. I also was in the band concert and marching. I played a baritone bass instrument. A female at that. Not my choice but I obeyed and never regretted it. God is so good I am a Christian a member of the Church of Christ Romans 16:16. I have visited in Wilson several times. Thank you and God bless
Thank you for sharing your memories! You were a few years behind my father Rederick Henderson ’52 and aunt Hattie Henderson Ellis ’53. I’d love to interview you about your memories of Wilson!
Thank you Lisa for responding to my comment. This is the second time I’ve replied but evidently it didn’t go through. Anyway, your father and my brother Raymond Harrison were best friends. Our families knew each other and you came from a great family. I went to school with Joe Ellis and graduated together. You can ask me questions in the future.
Oh, wow!! I will be in touch!
I suddenly remembered this: my dad used to love to drive through East Wilson pointing out significant places. I recall riding down Viola and him pointing his friend Raymond’s house!
