This was my great great aunt. My great grandfather’s baby sister. She helped raise me and my sisters. We spent many of days on Mercer St. She was still driving in her 90’s, but stopped because some of her family members thought she should. After that she walked everywhere. She was so youthful. Her hair was still salt and pepper, her skin still looked as young as her nieces including my grandma. She ate a healthy diet and enjoyed listening to the Word on tape. I remember her saying she didn’t want to replace her hearing aid batteries, because she didn’t know how long she would be around. I guess she replaced them because she lived another 15 years. She was an amazing woman!
Wow! Thanks so much for these personal details about Ms. Rountree!
