Last week, I registered Rountree, Odd Fellows, Vick, and Oakdale Cemeteries as historic cemeteries with North Carolina’s Office of State Archaeology, Division of Archives and History. Registration does not offer protection per se, but does guarantee their placement on state maps of sites of archaeological interest.
As an example, the form for Vick Cemetery:

I think this effort is remarkable! Is it possible to register the Ellis Cemetery on Nash Road and the Howard Cemetery (I don’t know where this is. All I know is that it’s somewhere in the suburbs and overgrown). Or can you direct me to how to do this?
By the way, I visited the exhibit at Imagination Station. Awesome!!!!

Lisa, your efforts to honor all those deceased yet great African American souls in Wilson cemeteries , as listed in this post , are at the very least highly commendable and greatly appreciated!!
