Pompey Horne and family did not stay long in Wilson. By the 1900 census, they had returned to Rocky Mount, Nash County: on West Railroad Street, wheelwright Pompy Horne, 55; wife Harrett, 47; and children Mattie, 18, Joel, 14, Cornelious, 14, Westry, 12, and Wooddie, 7.
